The Zen of Gardening
Mariea and Jim Noblitt
801 Kenmore Road
Perched high on a hillside, this white stucco home on two acres radiates serenity with an Asian flavor. A climbing drive and slate
steps, flanked by artfully placed stones, rise through a Torii gate toward the front of the house where a Zen garden features Japanese lanterns, bronze cranes and a Kwan Yin statue amid convoluted stones and an unusual low spruce. Behind the house a pergola crowns the rising rock-studded hillside, presiding over a saucer fountain and a contemplative Buddha.
